Review: Smart Grids Week - Salzburg 2013

This year the Smart Grids Week set the framework for the first Smart Grid Stakeholder Meeting supported by FINESCE on 13th May (see related news) as well as for presenting FINESCE.
 
The Smart Grids Week has established itself as THE place of business, network operators, research and administration in the subject area of smart infrastructures.

The Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology organizes the Smart Grids Week every year in cooperation with one of the main players of Austrian Smart Grids community - in 2013 it was the Salzburg AG. Target groups are national and international players in the field of electricity industry, research, industry and administration, dealing with the development of electricity infrastructure, its potential challenges and opportunities.

From 13th to 17th of May 2013 more than 300 national and international experts from industry, research and administration came together in the Salzburg Congress to share to the latest insights and innovative perspectives and to initiate joint projects.

The focus of the eighth Smart Grids Week 2013 was, in addition to technical and legal issues, in the areas of business models and network operation in the Smart Grid. During the event exciting, currently implemented demonstration projects of Smart Grids model region Salzburg were visited on site.
